Place Cards with FontMarketplace fonts

Thanksgiving dinner is a traditionally a special time for families and friends to gather. When setting the table for Thanksgiving dinner, or for any dinner party or occasion, a distinctive touch to consider is the use of place cards at each setting.

Place tags are a wonderful touch to make your guests feel truly welcome, and to ensure that everyone is seated according to your desired location. Creating and printing custom place cards for your Thanksgiving dinner table can be fun and easy to do. Here are our ideas on how you can use fonts from FontMarketplace.com to make place cards that will make your dinner a wonderful occasion.

Step 1) Decide on the theme or personality you want to convey.

Step 2) Select a paper or card stock that is thick, but not too heavy that it will jam your printer. You can use blank paper and cut out the cards with scissors, or you can purchase pre-cut place card paper such as Avery® Place Cards part numbers 5302, 8820 or 5820. These are sized 2" x 3-1/2" and fold-over in half.

Step 3) Create a layout in your favorite program such as Microsoft Word or another software application. Experiment with your choice of fonts, size and color. Every font has a unique personality, so select a font that best matches the theme for your dinner party.

We have designed a free template for Microsoft Word that you can use with Avery® Place Card paper. Download Free Place Card Template.

Step 4) Print out your place cards. We recommend a test print on blank paper before printing onto the place card stock. If you have any questions on printing to custom paper, read our article on Tips for Printing Attractive Cards & Invitations.

Step 5) Once you have your cards printed and cut out you can add a variety of unique touches to each place card. You can personalize them for every guest by adding little extras for example, edging the cards with a floral material for the ladies. Or simply print out the name on the card then let the kids decorate the cards with coloring pens/glitter/paper. Using different cutting tools can also add texture and style to your cards.
