Default Line Spacing
Design Tip: Default Line Spacing
By Roger C. Parker
|
Pay as much attention to leading, or line spacing, as you do to choosing the right typeface and type size! Use your software program’s Line Spacing command, usually located in the Format>Paragraph menu, to adjust line spacing on the basis of the typeface, type size, and line length you have chosen. Line spacing depends on typeface, type size, and line length, and is best chosen on the basis of trying different line spacing specifications and observing which combination is easiest to read. Subtle differences in line spacing can often make a dramatic difference in ease of reading. |
