The Ascender 2010 Font Pack contains new and enhanced versions of Microsoft’s Comics Sans and Trebuchet fonts. The Ascender type team created a true Italic & Bold Italic for Comic Sans, and a Black & Black Italic for Trebuchet, and loaded them up with new OpenType features.
14 Great OpenType Fonts!

This wonderful font selection provides a splendid palette of creative choices. The fonts include decorative headline, script and text styles.
Advanced OpenType Typographic Features
As we mentioned above, to utilize the advanced OpenType features you must have an application program with OpenType font support, for example the new Microsoft Office 2010. Here are examples of some of the wonderful typographic features available with the Ascender 2010 Font Pack:

Ligatures
Standard, contextual and discretionary ligatures connect two or more characters together. Ligatures can help improve a typeface’s readability or increase aesthetic appeal.

Contextual Alternates
The Contextual Alternates feature provides an automatic replacement of defined characters based on the context in which they appear. This feature can be used to create a random appearance, or other special effects

Number Forms
OpenType fonts allow for number character customization as well. With these new OpenType fonts users have the ability to choose between a variety of number forms and spacing options.

Stylistic Sets
An OpenType font can contain up to 20 stylistic sets, giving you the ability to customize the appearance of a font. Since each Stylistic Set has a number, you may need to experiment with this feature to witness its power and flexibility.
How to apply OpenType features in Microsoft Word 2010
1. Select the text you want to format.
2. On the Home tab, click the Font Dialog Box Launcher (in the lower right corner).
3. Click on the Advanced tab to select the desired OpenType features.

Tip: "What if the OpenType features are grayed out?" The OpenType Features section will be grayed out when text is selected with a font that does not have OpenType features, or for any older document version opened in Compatibility Mode.
All the fonts and new OpenType features were developed by the type experts at Ascender Corp and optimized for Office 2010 and other OpenType-savvy applications. INTRODUCTORY OFFER: Save 25% on the Ascender 2010 Font Pack! The regular retail price is $19.99, and is now on sale for only $14.99.

NOTE: if you do not have Office 2010 or an OpenType-savvy application you can still use these fonts. But you will not have access to the special OpenType features.
